We always loved wine and with a background and passion for agriculture always thought “wouldn’t it be fun to…”
Which led to a wine making class, a grape-growing class, then a backyard vineyard (only 150 vines), homemade wine and finally, when the opportunity presented itself, we went back to college and started looking for a good place to grow grapes and make wine. Kathy focused on sustainable viticulture and David on winemaking including a job with an award-winning Rhone producer.
After researching the climates and geography of several locations here in the far North State we thought would produce the type of wines we’d come to love, a friend showed us a property for sale near Whitmore and we knew we had found what we were looking for.
It was a good thing we didn’t buy into the glamorous image of winemaking! We measure our progress in dozens of worn out gloves, thousands of holes dug, millions of rocks removed, and gallons of sunscreen used.
But we still love what we are doing and hope that you can taste that in the wines we make.
Come up and visit us. Share our wine and our passion. And we’ll only put you to work if you really want to!
