Build it and they will come! (1895 - 1918) An amazing amusement park was built in Ludlow, KY funded by the investors of the Cincinnati and South Covington Street Railway Company. They created an amusement park in the middle of nowhere and charge people to get there and back. Circus performers from around the world entertained as many as 50,000 people a day. The Ludlow Lagoon closed in 1918 because alcohol sales were banned to support the war effort. Imagine how few wars we would wage if we couldn't drink.
