Stanley Park 1897 Amber, is crafted at a brewery which is the result of the single largest investment in a start up craft brewery in North America.
We decided to build our new sustainable brewery here because as a locally owned and operated company we truly care about our environment and investing in BC's future.
Our founding beer, named for a legendary brewery established near the south entrance of Canada's most cherished park in 1897, brings back a piece of our history and links it to our commitment to the environment.
Instead of the usual lager or heavily hopped pale ale, our state of the art brewery enables us to make beers which normally have to come from half way around the globe. 1897 Amber is a Belgian style Amber, regarded by brewers to be the most complex and distinctive, but also the most difficult to craft.
Hand selected Belgian Amber malt is blended with the finest French and Canadian malts, then brewed with characteristic English and European hops to produce a beer of nuance. The mellow, toasted malt and even body is perfectly balanced with a soft bitterness and mild hop aroma. The resulting light bodied beer has a subtle flavor complexity and an exceptionally clean finish.
