Indian Island Winery

Indian Island Winery Indian Island Winery originated from Winterhaven Vineyard and Nursery. Winterhaven Vineyard was established in the spring of 2000. The vineyard currently covers over 12 acres with over 6000 vines, and growing. We have 17 different varieties at this time and adding more every year. We are focusing on the newest cold hardy varieties. Winterhaven Nursery was established a year later in 2001. For two years we grew our nursery plants indoors. These plants were potted, live growing plants. In the spring of 2003, we started growing our nursery stock outdoors in nursery beds. We now sell many bare-root grape vines. We have also built a greenhouse so we can supply new varieties sooner as potted plants.

A great summer wine with citrus, pear, and tropical notes. Good for barbeques, ham, etc. Very refreshing white table wine.
Sweet Red blend with Bluebell, King, of the North, and Sabrevois. Very fruit forward and grapey. Great with spicy entrees and grilled food. Comparable to Concord.
  Frontenac Gris
Sweet white table wine with apricot and peach aromas. Great with fresh fruit and pastas with white or cream sauce.
  Frontenac Gris Late Harvest
Made from grapes that were left on the vine until they resembled raisins and had a very high sugar concentration. This created a very sweet, dessert wine with flavors of apricot and raisin. Perfect as an after-dinner wine and for special occasions.
  Frontenac Rosè
Semi-Sweet Red table wine. Black cherry flavors and aromas. Great with pasta, pork, pheasant, duck, and many other foods. It’s like a white zin with a kick.
Sweet white table wine with lots of citrus, grapefruit, tropical, and light honey notes. Food pairings: Spicy foods, Mexican, thick pastas, and cheese. Most comparable to Riesling.
Semi-dry red wine with aromas of smoke, spice, and subtle berries"
Very smooth, Port-style dessert wine made from the Frontenac grape variety. Great with dark chocolate, t-bone steak, etc. Napin-Nagi means "Strong Spirit" in the Native Dakota language.
  St. Croix
Semi-dry red wine with finished of oak, plum, and currant.
  Village Marquette
Unlike any other Marquette you've tried. Sweet and very fruity with aromas of strawberry and raspberry. Perfect with salads, fruits, and cheesecakes.
