Established in 2013, Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery will be the first craft distillery to operate in the downtown area in almost a century. With the ability to not only offer tastings of our spirits, we’ll also offer craft cocktails and bottles for sale directly to the public.
The name Hotel Tango reflects the military roots of our company’s founder, Travis Barnes. Returning home to Indiana after serving three combat tours as a Recon Marine, Travis thought of a special way to incorporate his and his wife's name in their new business. In the military phonetic alphabet, H (for Hilary) translates to Hotel, T (for Travis) translates to Tango. Each of our spirits fall in line with that methodology i.e. Victor Vodka, Romeo Rum, Golf Gin, Mike Moonshine, etc… Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery opened its doors on September 15, 2014 with its production facility, tasting room and retail establishment. We sell and sample artisanal spirits including gin, rum, moonshine, vodka, limoncello and of course, whiskey (although you’ll have to wait a bit for it to age to perfection). Manufactured on site, Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery uses only the highest quality, locally sourced raw materials, including Indiana-grown corn.
As a veteran-owned small business, our mission is to create, produce and sell a high quality spirit while giving back to and supporting local businesses and neighborhoods. We have a commitment to hiring other veterans as we grow and every drink or bottle we are able to sell helps us get closer to hiring that next veteran.
