Garry Oaks Winery

Garry Oaks Winery Garry Oaks Winery is located on a terraced ten-acre vineyard carved out of the south-facing gravel slopes overlooking the Burgoyne Valley on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. In 1999, Marcel Mercier and Elaine Kozak left the corporate world to turn their love of the country and good wine into a way of life. They purchased a hundred-year old farm on Salt Spring Island and began the long process of converting it from sheep-grazing to wine-growing. Over the next three years, seven acres were planted to vine and a winery built. A century-old orchard of apple, pear, plum and cherry trees was rehabilitated to enhance the beauty of the site and retain the diversity of its flora. A stand of magnificent Garry Oaks was preserved and gives the winery estate its name.

  Blanc de Noir
This is a dry Provence style rosé wine made from premium Pinot Noir grapes grown in our vineyard. A great summer sipper with bright berry, cherry and spice flavours.
  Fetish
Silver Medal, Northwest Wine Summit. Why name a wine Fetish? Because Bordeaux style wines enjoy a kind of cult-like status in the wine world and we're calling it like it is. And then there are all the other interesting connotations.... This wine is made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet grapes grown under our direction in select rows of the Diamond Back Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench in the South Okanagan. Look for big, lush flavours of blackberry, plum and dark chocolate supported by medium tannins.
  Gewürztraminer
An aromatic and spicy white wine made in a dry style from Alsatian clone Gewürztraminer grapes grown in our vineyard. Look for flavours of tropical fruit, rose petals, nutmeg and fresh ginger.
  Labyrinth
Inspired by our labyrinth, we have created this original wine from the rare Austrian Blaufrankisch grape grown under our direction in Okanagan Falls. A medium-bodied red wine, it has soft tannins and pure, intense flavours of raspberry jam, licorice, spice and bitter chocolate.
  Pinot Gris
Silver Medal, Northwest Wine Summit. This round, elegant wine is made from Alsatian clone Pinot Gris grapes grown in our vineyard. Fermented in barrel and aged on its lees, it shows flavours of cooked apple, mineral and peach with crisp citrus notes.
  Pinot Noir
Bronze Medal, Northwest Wine Summit. Our estate Pinot noir grown in our vineyard from specially chosen clones. Aged in Garry oak barrels, this elegant red wine has a classic earthy nose, lively fruit, savoury and herbal notes and a touch of cinnamon/clove on the finish.
  Prism
An aromatic and spicy white wine made in a dry style from a blend of Alsatian clone Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay grapes grown in our vineyard. Look for flavours of tropical fruit, rose petals and spice with mineral notes.
  Zeta
Zeta is the first release of the wine made from our estate-grown Zweigelt grapes. We are one of the few wineries in British Columbia to grow this Austrian varietal. Aged for a year in French oak, Zeta is a deeply coloured, medium-bodied, fruit forward red wine with black cherry, floral and spice flavours and a long finish with sweet vanillan notes.
