Blue Heron Fruit Winery

Located on the North side of the Fraser river opposite The Fort Winery Company. George Flynn started farming his property in 1946 and at the age of 84 opened his winery in 2003.
His 20 acres orginally was composed of cranberriesand blueberries. George hired Dominic Rivard at The Fort Winery to produce the initial wines for Blue Heron. The wines include Blueberry, Strawberry and Cranberry, as well as dessert wines including peach/apricot; also a very sweet, very smooth iced apple dessert wine.

This rich coloured, full bodied wine is a favourite of those who prefer red wine. Served chilled, our blueberry wine is an excellent table wine, especially served with red meats or light desserts.

Iced Apple Wine
Our iced apple wine is made using a process called "cryo-extraction", in which the apple juice is flash frozen. As the juice is thawed the very sweetest of the juice is collected to produce this remarkable wine. The finished product is a very smooth, full bodied wine with a long finish. Our ice apple wine is excellent served with ice cream or apple pie.

Strawberry Wine
This aromatic wine carries the delicate, yet unmistakable flavour of strawberries. Fairly light and dry, our strawberry wine goes well with light meals, salads and vegetarian dishes. This wine is the perfect choice for your summer picnics or barbecues, I can also be enjoyed as a spritzer, served on ice with sliced strawberries.

White Cranberry Wine
The driest of our table wines, this wine captures the cranberry flavour without the tartness usually associated with cranberries. The white cranberry produces a very light, smooth wine that makes the perfect complement to seafood or pasta meals.
