On the slopes of the northwest hillside just beyond Portland’s urban heart lies the picturesque, family-owned Abbey Creek Vineyard. Our first vines were planted in 1981 by Dr. Robert & Sandra Simmons for farm deferral purposes. The fruits of their labor were sold to local wineries until 2006 when son in law Bertony Faustin had the crazy notion of keeping the fruit onsite and starting their own label.
The first official Abbey Creek Vineyard label was released in 2008 and named as such after the creek that meanders throughout the 50 acre property. The 10 acres of vineyards consist mostly of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer with a recent addition of Gamay Noir and Albarino.
Distinguished locally for carefully cultivated fruit, we now present a small portfolio of handcrafted, premium estate wine. In order to better expose our wine to the local community we scouted out the surrounding areas and purchased a property in North Plains in August 2012 as a home to our winery/tasting room.
Our mission is to leave our visitors with an enjoyable experience, whether you’re a veteran or beginner in the wonderful world of wine. We are pleased that our wines are being enjoyed in select Portland restaurants and bottle shops; should you choose, our wines can be sampled and purchased directly from us at our winery/tasting room located just minutes off of highway 26.
