John Moore and wife Laura Subak founded Barley John’s Brew Pub in 2000. After years of homebrewing, a degree in nutritional sciences from the U of M, John completed coursework from the Siebel Institute of Brewing Sciences. After brewing for the now defunct District Brewing in downtown Minneapolis and James Page Brewing (NE location), John took his passion and experience to the current reality. Along with help from wife and partner Laura and countless friends and family, Barley John’s Brew Pub was born March 14th, 2000.
John and the team have worked to grow the original vision by adding a vegetable garden for fresh seasonal produce, a fully maxed out facility for brewing production in the current space, and soon will be the only brewery in Minnesota to install a solar array to provide solar energy to the facility.
We are a small owner operated brew pub just north of Minneapolis, and we are producing the highest quality food and craft beer on our oasis in New Brighton. Stop in and enjoy a pint, a meal and great company!

Directions
We are located just north of downtown Minneapolis on 35W and County Road D. Head west on County Road D until you intersect Old Highway 8. We are on the NE corner of Cty D & Old Highway 8.
