Raffaldini Vineyards

Raffaldini Vineyards The Raffaldini Family dates back to the year 1348 in the town of Mantua, in the Northern Province of Lombardy, Italy. Since this time, the Raffaldini Family has owned and continues to live on the farm where the great classical poet philosopher Virgil spent his youth. Over this time period, the Raffaldini Family has witnessed many historical events and has often marked these times with special family dinners and homemade Italian wine. This fusion of family, food and wine is also an integral part of the normal daily life. A decision was made by the Raffaldini Family to share their centuries old wine making experience with the new world. After a long and exhaustive search for the ideal location for a vineyard that reflects the experience learned over the generations, the Raffaldini Family settled in the Swan Creek area of the Yadkin Valley. It is on this vineyard that the Raffaldini Family hand craft Italian wines that express not only their "sense of place" but will also utilize the wine making skills that have been continuously refined over the ages. We encourage you to explore our web site to learn more about the Raffaldini Family heritage and the Italian Style Vineyards and Winery now being created. Of course, there is no substitute for seeing with your own eyes this unique property so please feel free to visit us and discover what over six hundred and fifty years of history is now creating.

Products

  Bella Misto
A smorgasbord of cherry, plum, strawberry and tea-like aromas lead to a strong black cherry finish. Full-bodied with good acidity and light tannins. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Nebbiolo and Barbera.
  Chardonnay
Wonderful nose of apple and pear followed by a honey-flavored mouthful. The avoidance of new oak creates a wine with nicely balanced acidity and a clean, crisp finish.
  Chiara
A semi-sweet Rosé wine produced from Sangiovese, Barbera and Chardonnay grapes. Unusually full-bodied for a sweet wine, Chiara is highly versatile. Best served chilled, it is a delicious refresher before dinner or as an accompaniment to dessert.
  Dolcetto
An easy sipping red wine with deep rich color and a nose of plum and black cherry. Faint licorice-mint essence on the finish. Soft like Merlot, spicy like Zinfandel.
  Pinot Grigio
Lusher on the palate and more plump on the finish than the 2004 Pinot Grigio, with mineral and citrus notes, our well-loved Pinot Grigio is in the finishing stages at the winery. We think it will be another top medal winner.
  Rosato
Heady aromas of strawberries and black cherries. Unusually full-bodied for a sweet wine. Pleasing finish with lovely aftertastes. A nice complement to spicy foods, such as Thai or Mexican.
  Rosso
A heady red blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Medium-bodied with a bit of satisfying spiciness on the mid-palate.
  Sangiovese
Red plum and sweet cherry fragrances dominate our lovely flagship red wine. The fresh black fruit flavors are quite noticeable with enough tannin structure to last well after the sip. The backbone grape of Chianti with a bit of Syrah.
  Vermentino
An elegant white wine with notes of pear, lime and citrus. Refreshing acidity and a lingering finish result from extended aging on the lees. Native grape of the Island of Sardinia and south coastal Italy.
