Alloro Vineyard

Alloro Vineyard The name of the vineyard and winery, Alloro, is the Latin and Italian word for laurel — the evergreen plant said to symbolize immortality in ancient times, and a symbol of peace and victory today. Alloro perfectly suits the vineyard for many reasons: the vineyard is sited on Laurel Ridge, in the Chehelem mountains just north of Newberg; its soil is the fertile Laurelwood soil; and laurel can be found growing on many parts of the property. David Nemarnik, founder and vineyard manager, also chose the name to recognize his family's long tradition of making wine. As a child, he played on the wine press once owned by his great-grandfather, Salvatore Dindia. Family trips to Italy and Croatia nurtured an appreciation for the timeless way of life that his European relatives have embraced for generations, one that celebrates wine as part of the culture. Alloro is the fulfillment of a dream to create an artisan vineyard and winery dedicated to the production of hand crafted world class Pinot Noir.

  Estate Pinot Noir
The low yields of the 2004 growing season, and intense vineyard management, produced wines truly reflective of our fine terrior. Alloro's 2004 Estate Pinot Noir is rich, complex, and elegant. The wine is of a deep garnet color, with aromas of ripe berries, smoke and spice. Flavors are of ripe dark berries, black cherry, plumb and spice, with soft round tannins for an elegant finish.
  Fattoria Pinot Noir
Alloro's Fattoria denotes our farm wine. This is Alloro's value bottling. Wine maker Don Kautzner carefully chooses barrels that stylistically differ from our estate bottling, yet, in and of itself makes a wonderful wine. Classic Pinot Noir color with aromas of ripe strawberries and raspberries. Flavors of ripe berries, black cherry, and hints of toasted oak and spice.
  Pinot Noir
Alloro's 2003 Pinot Noir truly reflects our fine terroir and the warmth of the 2003 growing season. A deep garnet colored wine with aromas of intense blackberry, dark cherry fruit and round ripe tannins. Aromas of coffee, smoke, and ripe berries hint at the complex flavors with layers of raspberry, dark cherry, and black pepper. An elegant, long finish to savor. While drinking well now, the soft tannins will enhance this elegant wine during proper storage.
  Pinot Noir
A blend of our Dijon and Pommard clones, this wine casts a black garnet hue from the bowl. Swirl the glass and the wine releases notes of smoke, coffee, and vanilla. The palate is filled with intense blackberry and blueberry fruit, framed with firm acidity and ripe tannins. The finish continues with notes of black plums, toffee and mocha.
