O'Connor Brewing Company began, like many small breweries, as a dream to bring another option to a local crowd. It all started in 1995 when Kevin O'Connor caught the bug for homebrewing in his college dorm room, and here starts the journey. Post college and after many failed batches of backyard brew (with some eventual successes), he was head over heels for the microbrewing industry and started learning more about the craft. Kevin got his professional start at Steamship Brewing Company in Norfolk, Virginia, a brewery that is no longer with us. Fast forward 10 years later, Kevin, with the help of his equally passionate and enthusiastic brewing team, has begun to make the dream come true of spreading the love of craft beer to Hampton Roads and its' neighboring cities.

Great Dismal Black IPA
The Great Dismal Black IPA, named after the wildlife refuge. The Great Dismal Swamp, in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, once used as a part of the Intracoastal Waterway, is a dark, full bodied ale, extensively hopped both in bittering and aroma.

Green Can Gold Ale
Named after the nautical term for the green buoy that helps navigate ships through the channels of Hampton Roads, the Green Can Gold Ale is a light bodied golden ale. Crisp, clean easy drinking ale, our most approachable offering.

Norfolk Canyon Pale Ale
Named after the offshore fishing grounds located 60 miles off of the coast of Virginia, Norfolk Canyon Pale Ale is a medium bodied american pale ale, with a solid malt pallet and a pleasant hop finish.

Red Nun Red Ale
Named after the nautical term for the red buoy that helps guide ships back to port, the Red Nun Red Ale is our interpretation of an Irish Red Ale. It has a robust malt backbone with a kiss of hops to create balance within the profile.
