Brickhouse Brewery

Brickhouse Brewery The BrickHouse Brewery is housed in the oldest commercial building in Patchogue. The large brick building at the corner of Main Street and Havens Avenue (one block west of North Ocean Avenue) was built about 1850 and until about the turn of the century housed Havens General Store. The building was used as a stop on the Underground Railroad, to hide slaves during the Civil War. The building was bought by the Shands family, who operated a hardware and farm supply store until about 1990 when the business was closed. The building was converted to the BrickHouse Brewery & Restaurant in 1996. Its historic flavor has been retained with the original tin ceilings in the Tap Room and lots of exposed original brick. Murals in the downstairs dining room depict scenes of early Patchogue. With what used to be a wooden porch converted to a brick brew house, The BrickHouse, with the help of the brewing professionals at Blue Point Brewery, turns out some of the finest beer anywhere with a broad selection of ales and an occasional lager. The BrickHouse offers beautifully presented and delicious food at moderate prices. Musical entertainment is presented on the downstairs stage seven nights a week.

The BrickHouse is located on Main St. in Patchogue, on Long Island's South Shore, about 35 Miles east of New York. It is readily accessible from both the Long Island Expressway and Sunrise Highway. To the west, Sunrise joins the Southern State Parkway. Patchogue is also a major retail shopping area and home to the historic Patchogue Theatre. This 1200 seat Broadway style theatre, just down the street from the BrickHouse, is home to major music and theatrical events. Patchogue is also the gateway to the Fire Island National Seashore and there is ferry service to Davis Park and Watch Hill on Fire Island. 11 miles north of Patchogue on Rt. 112 is Port Jefferson with it's ferry terminal to Bridgeport, Connecticut.
