Maydelle Country Wines

Maydelle Country Wines Nestled in the piney woods of East Texas off County Road 2108, east of Maydelle, Texas, lies Maydelle Country Wines. Located in the old Maydelle Depot*, Maydelle Country Wines makes muscadine and fruit wines for those who yearn for something different. Owned by Steven Harper, we are the first winery in Cherokee County, Tours of the facilities and vineyard are ongoing, so you can see how things are run. Also in the building with the winery is Home Brew Depot, a small home brewing supply store from which you can get everything you need for making your own beer, wine, or other carbonated drinks. Things here follow the old fashion belief that good things come to those who wait. We do all our work by hand, from the picking of fruit to crushing, all the way to bottling. It takes a little longer, but it’s better that way. Our wine list includes an excellent red muscadine wine, scupanong, and our own Creole Blush that is sure to please. Our fruits come predominantly from local growers and are subject to availability, but we try to have peach, blackberry, and sometimes grapefruit, to mention a few. The crew at Maydelle Country Wines are ready to serve you from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and noon to 6pm Sunday. Feel free to come and sample our wines and let the children play with the toy trains. We also have homemade root beer on tap for those who prefer something non-alcoholic.
