Carl and Pam both spent many years in the trade show industry in San Francisco. Like many hard working professionals, they were discussing their future and what they wanted to do in the next chapter of their lives. As growing wine enthusiasts and gourmets they decided to go on a wine and food tour of Tuscany, Italy. Scheduled for early September of 2001, the trip almost never happened due to the tragedy of September 11th.. Carl and Pam along with a few other brave souls boarded a plane the first day flights were resumed and embarked on the trip that would become their personal “Azimuth” The moment of realization came as Pam snapped a photo of Carl clutching a wine glass at a small winery after walking the vineyard in the hills of Tuscany, “the minute I snapped the photo, I knew this was his next entrepreneur passion.”
