  Cartlidge & Browne Cabernet Sauvignon
A broader, riper wine than its predecessor, the 2004 Cabernet offers aromas of baked black fruits - especially black cherry, and currant - coffee bean and fragrant sweet tobacco. Its palate is full and expansive; the generosity of the rich cherry/blackberry fruit is nicely framed by the spice and toastiness of oak. A perfect match for grilled red meats and game, it is equally delicious with poultry dishes, stews, and hearty risottos.
  Cartlidge & Browne Chardonnay
The 2004 Chardonnay gave us a very exciting and especially rich style Chardonnay. The blend represents a variety of growing regions and vineyards, for the most part our long term contracts, but some new sources as well. Ripe, lush aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, pear, and orange peel are enhanced by clean oak spice and the creaminess of malo-lactic fermentation. The palate is especially full and smooth in texture, with loads of ripe citrus, juicy pear and tangerine fruit.
  Cartlidge & Browne Merlot
Medium-full garnet in color, the wine's aromas are principally ripe black currant and blueberry, bolstered by notes of cola, licorice, and unsweetened chocolate, as well as spicy oak. On the palate, the texture is firm butwithout powerful tannins, its flavors of cassis, black cherry, and spice cake.
  Cartlidge & Browne Sauvignon Blanc
Light straw in color, the wine's aromas are fresh and inviting, with a kiwi, ripe citrus, pineapple and other tropical fruit tones. A smooth palate impression compliments and dovetails with the wine's bright core of fruit.
  Cartlidge & Browne Syrah
With its inky color and super rich, ripe fruit aromas of black cherry, plum jam, and fig; the 2002 Syrah is truly a blockbuster. But with relatively low alcohol and no harsh tannins, it is surprisingly approachable. Along with its deep fruit flavors, it also offers subtle notes of clove, leather, minerals, and baking spices. The rich midpalate follows through to a long resonant finish.
  Cartlidge & Browne Zinfandel
In the 2004 Zinfandel, we have tempered a full-throttle, densely textured Sierra Foothills portion with two, more stylish, yet very flavorful, portions from Sonoma County. While the Sierra Foothills lot is all plum jam, leather, and figs; the Sonoma wines are both brimming with raspberry and blackberry flavors. The Mendocino fraction was harvested at a modest 24.0 brix which gave us a well-proportioned wine with fine cherry/blackberry fruit, a touch of briar and peppery tones. Lastly, our Lodi component, harvested very ripe, but in perfect condition, at 26.1 brix, contributes rich color, soft tannins and wonderful roasted black fruit character.
  Manzanita Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon
  Manzanita Canyon Chardonnay
Dry White Wine
  Rabid Red
With a deep, positively inky color with purple/garnet tones, the 2004 Rabid Red offers broad, ripe aromas of baked cherry, clove spice, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-blooded and resonant without harshness. Flavors range from ripe cherry and blueberry to coffee bean, cocoa, cedar and anise. This wine is equally at home with home barbeque fare, as well as with more elaborate preparations of red meat, poultry, and game. The blend: 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Petite Sirah, 18% Syrah, 17% Tempranillo, 1% Grenache, & 1% Zinfandel.
  Rabid Red California Red Wine
A powerful, yet stylish, red wine built around the muscle of Foothills Syrah and the rich cassis fruit of Monterey Cabernet. All of the fruit was harvested very ripe which accounts for the wine’s dense texture and soft ripe tannins. The Napa Zinfandel portion adds bright, spice cake notes to the blend, as well as an expansive and round palate. In order to add a fresh floral note, we have taken a page from a Northern Rhone tradition and included a small amount of elegant, floral Viognier to this red blend.
  Stratford Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley
The wine’s aromas are keynoted by classic blackberry and cassis fruit, enhanced by harmonious notes of mocha, licorice, elegant oak, and a bit of mint. It is wonderfully striking without being overbearing or monolithic. On the palate, it is rich with exotic spice notes of nutmeg and clove, along with lusciously ripe but fresh cherry and cassis.
  Stratford Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Full, ripe of aromas of black cherry, fig and blackberry combine with notes of chocolate, rich coffee, and tobacco to create a real ‘banquet.’ The wine’s texture is smooth and lush, with just enough tannin to provide good ‘grip.’ Loaded with dense flavors of cocoa, juicy cherry, black plum and oak spice.
