Foothill Hops Farm Brewery

We believed a farm brewery should start with a farm. In 2000, after visiting the Madison County Hop Fest, we joined with others who were interested in exploring the feasibility of once again growing hops on a commercial scale in New York. We planted our first hops the next spring and began to wonder if hops and beer could one day be the economic force in Central New York that grapes and wine were in the Finger Lakes. We expanded our hop yard, designed and built harvesting, drying and processing systems. We helped write grants and legislation that moved both the hops and farm brewing industries forward. Now our dream of farm based beverage trails has come true and we are excited to announce that our own Foothill Hops Farm Brewery opened in the fall of 2017. 100% of the hops in our beers are grown on our farm. They travel less than a few hundred yards from field to fermenter with all the processing done right here. Every beer ( with the exception of our gluten free beer) is at least 85% NY grains, most 90% or more and some even 100%. Like you, we believe in local agriculture and the unique flavors of our region.
