Maize Valley Winery

At Maize Valley Winery, "We Make Great Wine... FUN!" Maize Valley is
located three miles east of Hartville Ohio on St. RT. 619. That puts us
just twenty minutes from either Akron or Canton and just an hour from the
Cleveland area.
Our family at Maize Valley blends the country charm of our award winning
farm market with the excitement of finding that special taste captured in a
bottle. We offer a range of wines from our sweeter Niagara style to a fine
dryer Cabernet Sauvignon. And if you need some help finding one you like we
can help out too. Farm raised fruits such as Strawberry, Raspberry and more
fine their way onto our market's shelves and into our wine bottles.
While in our beautifully restored 150 year old barn you can sample then
choose from over 80 different types of meats and cheeses offered in our
deli, plus a host of other fine foods from our homegrown produce to pastry
and baked goods.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Aged in American oak barrels, our Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits rich currant and black cherry flavors which are balanced by smooth tannins and soft vanilla oak notes. Enjoyable now but will reward those who cellar it for 3-5 years. Serve at room temperature. 579

Catawba
Semi-sweet, Grapey aromas, crisp and spicy flavors. Finishes tight and crisp while still fun! Remember Put-in-Bay anybody?

Chambourcin
Still aging in Oak we'll let you know. But as Tom Cruise said in Top Gun, " it's looking good so far".

Chardonnay
Rich and creamy with intense flavors reminiscent of tropical fruit and citrus. A long slow fermentation in small oak barrels adds hints of soft butter and vanilla. Serve slightly chilled.

Cherry
Semi-sweet, light and crisp. Starts sweet and finishes Tart. And you know, they say that cherry juice is good for your arthritis too! I have noticed that after the second bottle my joints feel much better.

Fredonia
Semi-Sweet, A medium bodied, red wine with aromas reminiscent of freshly picked grapes. Serve slightly chilled. This wine is in a dress shirt and kakies but it thinks it's wearing jeans and a T-shirt!

Niagara
Sweet, Intense grape flavors and aromas. This wine is summer fun, remember how the grapes smelled when you walked by grandpa's grape vines?

Rasberry
Dew Dropped mornings and Hot steamy nights make for ruby red raspberries with seductive aromas and tonge tantalizing flavors. Riesling
Semi-dry, Crisp and fruity reminiscent of apricots, nectarines and honey.

Strawberry
Made from our own homegrown strawberries, allowed to ripen on the vine under the warm Ohio sun, hand picked at the peak of sweetness and flavor. A long slow fermentation captures the essences of the fruit resulting in a sweet, strawberry wine. It is our number ONE seller!
