Redhawk Vineyard
|

Redhawk vineyard, first planted in 1979, is on a small southeast facing slope perfectly suited for growing richly flavored, spicy Pinot noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay grapes. These grapes, fermented in small lots, and given up to two years aging in French oak barrels, consistently make highly-rated estate wines with a full-flavored intensity not often found in Oregon wines. Best known for the "cultish" Grateful Red, we also produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a Bordeaux-style blend called "Reds Cuvee". Our popular cartoon labels, "Chateau Mootom" and "Great White" have both received "Worst Label Awards" from the prestigious Decanter magazine. Additional cartoon labels, including "Punk Floyd", "Rat Race Red", Donner Party, and "Bigfoot Blend" are available at the winery.

2001 Cabernet Franc
Classic Cab Franc violet nose. This medium bodied wine is rich, multidimensional, spicy and fragrant. Youthful, but very approachable.

2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Rich black fruit-forward aromas. Fully ripe entry leads to a lush, fruit full-bodied palate with merciful tannins. Very hedonistic.

2001 Chardonnay
Exquisite bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus. Bright and fresh on the palate with a lovely finish. Non oaked

2001 Merlot
Lovely nose of blackberry fruit. Velvety smooth with deep ripe flavors. Well balanced with nice finish.

2001 Syrah Quail Run Vineyard Reserve
Unbelievable depth and concentration of flavors. Incredible intensity for a young wine. If you can keep your hangs off of it for a few years you will be amply rewarded. Very Limited Production!

2002 Riesling "Late Harvest"
Exquisite nose of honeysuckle and ripe peaches. The initial sweet entry into the mouth bursts into luscious flavors of honeyed fruit. Beautiful finish.

2003 Dolcetto Estate Reserve
The Italian red somewhat like Merlot. Quite concentrated wit rich, ripe deep briary fruit. Medium body and tannin. Now showing it's youth but will develope into an outstanding wine. This is only our second bottling of this grape and we think it shows a lot of promise in the Willamette Valley. VERY LIMITED!

Great White
100% Chenin Blanc. Lovely off-dry fruit flavors with a delightful snap in the finish. This is the perfect summer wine, chill and enjoy.

Malbec
Warm sunny nose with spice, tar and chocolate. The palate is soft and ripe with a spicy note. Unusual wine for Oregon.

Pinot Gris
Another nice wine from vines planted by us in '92. Classic Gris nose with a hint of peach in the nose and a long finish.
