Wy'East Vineyards

Wy'East Vineyards Proprietors Christie and Dick Reed met in Chicago in 1977 while both were independent floor traders at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. A chance introduction to Master of Wine John Salvi, and subsequent visit to Bordeaux fired Christie's first interest in the world of fine wine.

  Blue Chip Blend
We are located in the heart of the Hood River Valley, a verdant pocket on the north side of Mt. Hood. It is the "sweet spot” between the cool, Pacific climate and the austere terroir to the east. The eastern sloping vineyards of Blue Chip Farm surround our home. The vines are drenched with gentle morning sun and protected from harsh afternoon rays. This extraordinary young vine pinot noir is the result of careful pruning, low yields and volcanic soils.
  Cabernet Sauvignon
We are pleased to present our first Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the esteemed Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Eastern Washington state. For over a decade the Coyote Canyon Vineyard has been producing quality grapes, and we are happy to have this regal wine join our line-up. It is quintessential Northwest Cab – robust, rich berry flavors, strong tannins enhanced with oak barrel aging.
  Chardonnay
Our Chardonay carries only a hint of oak barrel aging, the fruit is so delicious we didin't want to mask it. Bright citrus and pineapple flavors make this Columbia Gorge treat an excellent choice for casual sipping. This is the Chardonnay for people who are tired of overly processed, mass produced flavorless Chards.
  Pinot Gris
This luscious Pinot Gris is sourced from our own vineyards in the Hood River Valley. Rich tropical flavors are balanced with good acidity, yielding a rich, mouth-filling finish. It is the perfect summer cooler for the patio, and is tasty paired with crab or pears and cheese. Cheers!
  Reserve Pinot Noir
Legendary, majestic Mt. Hood presides over the south facing slopes of Wy’ East Vineyard. Volcanic soils, conscientious yield management and glorious climate have enabled us to produce our first Reserve Pinot Noir. Complex raspberry flavors and distinctive earthiness are signatures of the twenty year old vines of Wy'East Vineyard.
  Syrah
About 20 miles east of Hood River Valley the climate grows warmer and drier enabling the noble grape Syrah to flourish. These grapes originate from the Kortge Vineyard in The Dalles, with its south facing vineyard at 650 feet of elevation, it is a demonstration of the quality and diversity of Columbia Gorge grapes. Savor the plum and blackberry richness enhanced by the characteristic spiciness of Syrah.
