Toucan Wines is our family owned and operated California micro-winery and vineyard focused on hand-made estate grown Zinfandel and Petite Sirah wines. Our limited production of estate wines from our 3 1/2 acre vineyard total a mere 100 - 300 cases.
Toucan Wines is located on the beautiful central coast of California, in the Arroyo Grande Valley AVA, in the foothills near the Huasna Valley on a ranch known as Tar Springs. Our very small 3½ - acre hillside vineyard is planted to "old clone" head-trained Zinfandel vines known for low-yields, looser clusters and balanced fruit. Grafted from the 1923 planting of the highly regarded Benito Dusi vineyard in Paso Robles, these vines thrive by producing intensely colored and flavorful Zinfandel fruit in our microclimate of warm-to-hot days and cool nights.

Estate Zinfandel
Deep garnet/purple, the nose is ripe, bright wild cherry and darker-berry fruit, spice and a forward elegance of fruit and oak; a big wine with tastes of intense cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, licorice and pepper on a platform of refined oak, a full mouth feel and a long finish. This wine has tasting great all year, and now it's all come together in a beautiful wine ready to enjoy with food.

Estate Zinfandel
The finished 2004 Estate Zinfandel a young-wine that’s developed nicely in the bottle and will further develop over the next several years. This wine is a rich dark-colored ruby-purple Zinfandel with a nose of ripe cherry and blackberry on a background of rich oak; tastes of darker fruits - cherry, currant, and what I like to call ZinBerry, a familiar full mouth-feel, with acid and medium tannins that will hold up to bottle aging. These flavors will better join together with another two-five years in the bottle. Enjoy!
