Gamache Vintners
|
|
With their first vinifera planting in 1982 Bob and Roger Gamache founded what would become one of the elite vineyard sites in Washington State. By focusing on the unique interactions of soil, climate, and vine the Gamache brothers have nurtured the growth of premium wine grapes that have been sought after by the state’s top winemakers for over twenty-four years. Gamache grapes have long been a part of award winning wines throughout the region, and today Gamache Vintners are proud to present to you our own estate wines. Hand-crafted in small lots, these wines capture the unique essence of our remarkable vineyard site, located atop the White Bluffs of Columbia Valley.

Boulder Red
Boulder Red is an estate blend comprised of: 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, and 15% Syrah. These grapes were selected to create a rich red wine, bursting with raspberries and complimented by a hint of fresh spice, which dances smoothly across your palate.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2003 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, loaded with ripe blackberries and fresh plums, exemplifies the Gamache Vintners’ style. Twenty-two months in a combination of French and American oak enhanced the concentrated fruit flavors and tremendous mouth feel. This cellar-worthy wine can be enjoyed now and well into the future.

Merlot
Gamache Vintners’ inaugural Estate Merlot is a complex, beautiful wine. Aged for twenty months in French and American oak barrels, its expressive nose shows dark fruits complemented by a wisp of smoke. Rich plums and juicy black cherries with a twist of the pepper mill round out the smooth mouth feel and lingering finish.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
The Gamache brothers and Paul Champoux are not only cousins, but lifelong friends. Together they share over fifty years of viticultural experience. Both vineyards are renowned for their outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and when the finest hand-picked grapes grown on vines over two decades old are combined they come together in an immaculate fusion. Our 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is painstakingly crafted to bring you the best that both vineyard sites have to offer. The result is a full bodied, luscious, aromatic wine that is enjoyable now but will reward long-term cellaring.

Syrah
Rhone varietals excel at Gamache Vineyards, and our 2003 Estate Syrah is no exception. Wild raspberries are joined by hints of plum and freshly ground spices on the palate. Soft yet supple, this complex wine is a true expression of what Washington State Syrah is.

Velida
Gamache Vintners’ inaugural Estate Viognier honors our Mother and Grandmother with name “Velida,” two beautiful, strong women who approach life with a gentle grace. Intense fruits kissed with butter offer a refreshing alternative to Chardonnay. Think warm summer nights on the deck, drinking Velida while snacking on freshly cracked crab and gourmet cheeses.
