Winery at Versailles

Winery at Versailles Welcome to The Winery at Versailles, in beautiful Darke County, Ohio. The winery is open Monday through Thursday from 10 to 6. Friday and Saturday we are open 10 to 9. We are closed Sunday. Wine tastings and sales are available. We have a small seating area for those who wish to purchase wine by the glass or bottle. Light refreshments are also available. Tours are available most days from 11 to 5. For groups of 10 or more, please make reservations so that we may have enough staff. Bus tours are welcome, with reservations.

  2002 Chardonnay
this has just been released, and is our oak barrel finished wine.
  2003 Chardonnay
this is our stainless steel fermented and finished Chardonnay, which has a lighter body and slight fruit flavor.
  Autumn Leaves
A semi-dry, red wine, that can also be heated for mulled wine. Great on a cold night.
  Blueberry Mist
Made entirely from blueberries, with no added flavorings or color. Sparkling and slightly sweet. This wine just won the "Best Fruit Wine" at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition.
  Brits Blush
A semi-dry rose' with a luscious color, named after the owners' two granddaughters.
  Buckeye Blush
For those who enjoy the White Zinfandel, this blend offers everything you enjoy about it, but with a softer finish, and a rich color. Semi-sweet.
  Cabernet Sauvignon
This classic French varietal tastes of ripe berries and tannins. Barrel fermented and aged in American oak for 10 months, this complex, rich red goes well with beef, heavy brown or red sauces.
  Celebration
A slightly sweet sparkling white for toasting any special occasion or just life itself. Serve chilled.
  Chambourcin
Medium bodied, aged on oak for 4 months, this versatile American hybrid will compliment richly flavored spicy dishes such as creole or Mexican.
  Darke Red
2003 Blend of three popular reds, Baco Noir, Chambourcin and DeChaunac. Combines the best of all three grapes. A rich fruity wine with a wonderful, soft finish. Great alone or with beef or wild game. Semi-dry.
  Hunter Red
A semi-sweet, full bodied red wine. Fruity.
  Merlot
A dry red, bursting with fresh tart cherry flavors supported by soft tannins from aging in French oak barrels for 10 months.
  Niagara
Imagine you have just sucked the skin off the grape. Now close your eyes. Hold that thought, and you have the flavor of our Niagara. Rich, sweet, grapey. Just like dad used to make.
  Olde Fort Port
Made in a non-traditional way, this 100% Chambourcin port comes to you fermented (not fortified) to 19% alcohol. Unfiltered, this after dinner delight will please your palate, as well as your eye, where rich ruby red hues foretell of lingering flavors reminiscent of fresh ripe berries and black licorice. $15.99
  Peach Mist
A soft, rich aroma, made from the best ripened peaches to be found, this bubbling peach wine can be enjoyed as an apéritif or with dessert. Serve well chilled. This wine just won bronze at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition. $10.75
  Pinot Auxxerois
This Alsatian grape comes to you made in a very untraditional method. Fermented for 48 days in stainless steel, at 42 degrees and finished with a hint of sweetness, this vinifera surprises your taste buds with hints of lemon, melon and lavender. Semi-sweet.
  Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris
This European varietal, vinted true to its character, is soft on the palate, has a neutral nose, and contains vanilla flavors from barrel aging in American oak for four months. Serve chilled with moderately spicy, light dishes, salads, summer fare. Dry.
  Port of Chardonnay
This is not the typical Chardonnay, fermented to 17% alcohol then fortified to 19%. Barrel aged in French oak to give nutty aftertastes and sweetened to make a perfect end to a great meal. The tastebuds will be delighted with the first sip.
  Rodeo Red
For those who enjoy a sweet, spicy wine, this blend of Native American grapes is the ultimate party wine. Son Jamie's first attempt at a wine blend.
  Rosatto Muscatto
This rare vinifera, vinted on the skins, is voluptuously sweet and has concentrated Muscat flavors, with strong melon tones and mouth-filling fruit flavors. This will be the only time it will be available.
  Schwartzbeeren
What can you say about a wine that tastes like sweet blackberries, and has a finish fresh as dew? We are pleased to offer this wine as a dessert wine or just dessert! This wine just won gold at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition.
  Shawnee Blush
With a luscious salmon color, this medium sweet Steuben grape produced a rich tasting wine, with a cotton candy aftertaste.
  Starlight
2003 designer bottle. Introducing a soft semi-sweet Riesling, with a light, fruity mouthfeel, and a soft finish. In honor of those REAL heroes of the past few years, those who protect and serve, and answered the call for our country.
  Stillwater White
This crisp, clean, 2004 Cayuga is finished with a pronounced citric nose. Will compliment a wide array of foods, white sauces, seafood and fowl. Semi-dry.
  Viognier
Light, refreshingly crisp on the palate, just LOADED with citrus flavors, with a hint of lavender in the lingering aftertaste. This wine just won bronze at the Eastern International Commercial Wine Competition.
  Wedding White
A semi-sweet wine that can be used for dinner or with cheese and crackers. This is the traditional wine served at all Williams family weddings.
