Ferenc (pronounced like “Terence” with an F) is a passionate and exceptional winemaker that gives credit to his family’s heritage for his sophisticated skill set in winemaking. Winemaking runs in his blood. Ferenc is a 5th generation winemaker born in Kecskemét Hungary, where his family has been crafting wines since 1883. As a child, Ferenc began working alongside his father and grandfather. Under their guidance he learned the application of natural winemaking, and formed the foundation for his winemaking personality and technique.
To expand his talents, Ferenc worked alongside world-class winemakers while earning his master’s degree in Viticulture and Oenology. When completed, he moved to the United States as a winemaker intern. For the next ten years Ferenc advanced his knowledge and craft in the heart of Oregon’s craft wine region.
Eager to share his expertise and unique winemaking personality, Ferenc and his wife Diana established Ipacs Cellars in 2012. Since then, Ipacs Cellars has distinguished itself by offering high-end, small-batch wine, at an excellent value.
