Located only minutes west of Sunnyside and north of Interstate 82, the Tefft estate is just far enough from city life and traffic noise to forget the stress they represent. Only vineyards and orchards abound in this wine-country getaway we call home. Not just an award-winning winery in Washington State's prime winegrowing region, Tefft Cellars Winery and Guest House is a completeTefft Cellars Guest House with vineyard view wine-country experience! Encircled by 12 acres of vineyards and neighboring apple orchards, your wine-country options are abundant at the Tefft Cellars family estate. In 1991, we established our Washington winery in the middle of the Yakima Valley, locating our winemaking facilities and our home side by side. Since then, our commitment to healthy vineyards and elegant wines remains consistent, and our family estate and wine-country lifestyle grow every year. Part of that lifestyle is sharing our experiences with others.

From Yakima, take I-82 east to exit 63. * Turn left (north) at end of off ramp; * Drive 0.4 miles to stop and turn left (west) onto Yakima Valley Highway; * Drive 0.9 miles to Outlook Road and turn right (north);
* Drive 3.2 miles, through the stop at Van Belle Road, and turn left (west) onto Independence Road; * Turn left into driveway, 0.2 miles from Outlook Road intersection. (Please drive slowly on gravel to kicking up dust into the orchards.)

Black Ice
This unique wine was made from the Black Muscat grape, picked in late November. Lush flavors of apricot and peaches abound, in this wonderful dessert wine.

CABERNET PORT
This wine shows great Cabernet flavors with noticeable tannins and a sweetness that adds to the rich character of the variety. Our port is made in a drier style (6% RS) to enhance to flavors of the varietal.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Classic Cabernet flavors abound in this dry, fruity red wine, fermented in small open topped containers and aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of two years it is bottled only when we feel the wine is ready.

CABERNET-MERLOT
This is a classic Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine shows rich flavors of berries and plums, making it an enjoyable wine, with or without food. The 4-liter box is just right for parties, reunions, boating, RVing or single glass servings.

Chardonnay
A wine of finesse and subtlety, the flavors of citrus and butterscotch highlight the light floral, herbal aromas of the nose. We barrel ferment in French Oak and the wine is aged 'sur lie'. Finishes with lively acidity and a pleasing touch of oak.

CHARDONNAY HOUSE BLEND
Our "House Blend" is a little lighter and less oaky, which makes it a great food wine. The 4-liter box is just right for parties, reunions, boating, RVing or single glass servings.

CHENIN BLANC
Estate grapes are used to produce this great sipping wine.The creaminess and slight residual sugar along with citrus and grapefruit flavors makes this a great food wine. This wine can be enjoyed with lighter meals and especially friends.

Merlot
Our Merlot is made in the classic style to accentuate the fruity, early ageing character of this varietal. Ageing in American Oak for ten months produces warm jammy flavors of black cherries and toasty oak in this ruby colored wine.This mellow wine will make a delicious companion with your favorite meat or pasta dish and is spectacular with lamb.

PUNCHEON AGED ESTATE SYRAH
A puncheon is a 500 liter barrel, twice the size of the average barrel. The larger volume cask has less surface area with the wine and leaves a soft, smooth finish. This wine has hints of chocolate, cherry and currant flavors which lace it with a nice lingering vanilla finish.

River Mist
Late harvest Chenin Blanc grapes were used to produce this wine with lush flavors of apricots and peaches that mingle with faint traces of pineapple to produce a long finish with the candied feel of the great Sauternes of France. A perfect finish to any meal.

ROSEY OUTLOOK
Everyone needs a "Rosey Outlook" on life. This off-dry wine is a true rose' of Cabernet Franc. Limited skin contact gives this wine that perfect rosey color, great for an everyday sipping wine or for picnics. Also the perfect spa wine.

SAINTS' WINE
Our Saints Wine was produced from Late Harvest Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer. It was fermented and aged for 3 years in 30 gallon oak barrels similar to Italian "Vin Santo". This produces a fine nutty flavor that enhances the fruit flavors of peach and nectarine. A residual sugar of 17% and 13% alcohol made this a great wine to enjoy with almond biscotti.

STARBOARD ( Port-style Huckleberry wine)
Starboard is made from freshly picked mountain huckleberries combined with grape brandy. Flavors of huckleberry, blackberry, and blueberry are everywhere in this wine. A higher residual sugar (10%) helps to make this a delightful dessert wine.

VILLA ROCCA
Blended to bring out the best of both grapes, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, using estate grapes, this "Super Tuscan" is a wonderful addition to any meal. It's beautiful color, smooth texture, and firm tannins make this a truly food friendly Italian style red wine.

VILLA TOSCANA
Inspired by the beautiful villas and landscape of Tuscany we have tried to capture the fresh, youthful spirit and flavors of the great Chianti's of Italy. It is a blend of Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
