Hanna Winery
Hanna Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a world renowned cardiac surgeon who lives and practices in San Francisco. Born and raised on a farm in a small village in Syria where his family grew a variety of crops, including grapes and olive trees, He was anxious to find a place in the country to continue the farming heritage of his family. Dr. Hanna’s oldest daughter Christine now runs the day-to-day operations of the winery. “When you grow up around agriculture, you can’t help get connected to the process. It’s a wonderful business; combining farming, winemaking, sales and marketing." Beginning with 12 acres in the Russian River Valley, today Hanna Winery encompasses more than 600 acres of land with approximately 250 acres planted to vines in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and the Mayacamas Mountains. Award winning wines are crafted at the newly remodeled winery in Santa Rosa. In the works is a new 100,000 case production facility at the Alexander Valley location. Along with the flagship Sauvignon Blanc, Hanna also produces a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Reserve Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. The jewel in the crown is certainly Hanna’s Bismark Ranch vineyard high atop the Mayacamas Mountains. Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Syrah and Zinfandel are grown on the terraced hillsides.

Aromas of cherry, rose petals and a hint of Burgundian earthiness lead to complex flavors and a long lingering finish.
Jasmine Cabernet Franc - Sonoma Valley
2002 was a challenging year at Bismark. Because we feel that some varieties from this vintage lack the structure and depth requisite for our elite Bismark label, we have chosen to “declassify” them. This Jasmine Cabernet Franc exhibits supple dark fruit, perfect for every day drinking.

Jasmine Syrah - Sonoma Valley
2002 was a challenging year at Bismark. Because we feel the vintage lacks the depth and ageing ability requisite for our elite Bismark label, we have chosen to “declassify” the vintage. The sweet irony is that this is still among the finest Syrahs produced in California. The 2002 Jasmine Syrah is supple, brimming with chocolate and blueberry fruit and dangerously quaffable.
Merlot - Alexander Valley
Black cherry and plum aromas and flavors are predominant. A hint of eucalyptus adds complexity, and oak aging results in a rounded finish of spice and vanilla.
Merlot, Bismark Ranch
Gorgeous black fruit, tobacco and leather aromas swirl out of the glass. A lush and dense mouthfeel follows, with sturdy yet supple tannins. This Merlot is a candidate for serious cellar age, but can also be enjoyed now.
Nebbiolo, Bismark Ranch
Gorgeous aromas of rose and geranium mark this Nebbiolo. But don’t be misled by the feminine nose. The tannins are very muscular in this wine, and we suggest cellar age for a year or two before you open it. It will be worth the wait.
Noir, Bismark Ranch
Aromas of cherries and herbs pervade the nose, followed by rich, extracted and full bodied flavors.
Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley
Our Pinot presents aromas of cranberry, vanilla, quince and a hint of Burgundian earthiness and smoke. With soft, plush flavors, this young wine will continue to mellow and develop as it ages.
Reserve Zinfandel - Alexander Valley
Our winemaker Jeff Hinchliffe likens this wine to a “cast iron raspberry beret.” For those of us more metaphorically challenged, the wine shows a ruby purple color, with a nose of vanilla and raspberry fruit. It’s intense, yet silky and supple.
Sangiovese, Bismark Ranch
This lush Sangiovese presents a dark ruby color, black cherry, spice and herbal aromas, with a vanilla finish. The ultimate comfort beverage, it’s warm, ripe, and dense. Salute!

Our Russian River bottling emphasizes grapefruit and melon in the aromas and mid palate with a finish broadened by malolactic fermentation. The wine is fresh and grassy with distinctive Sauvignon Blanc character.
