Heart O' The Mountain
Originally established in 1881 by the Pierre Cornwall family, Heart O' The Mountain has enjoyed a rich history of wine grape growing in The Santa Cruz Mountains.
First planted with Cabernet Sauvignon by the Cornwalls, and later with White Riesling grapes when Director Alfred Hitchock owned the property, a steep vineyard site has existed on and off since the property was first established. The grapes Alfred Hitchock grew were sold to the Cresta Blanca brand, and after Hitchcock's time, the vineyard was abandoned and left to horse pasture. In 2002 our family decided to replant the vineyard, and we planted Pinot Noir. We converted an old horse barn into our winery building, and we released our first Estate Pinot Noir in 2005.
