Winemaker Bill Owen has been in the restaurant, wholesale and retail wine business for over 25 years. He has traveled and studied extensively in the wine regions of France, Italy and Germany and developed his interest in winemaking while working with two of Washington's top winemakers. Partner Rob Sullivan is a retired Seattle-area banker with an entrepreneurial spirit and a wine-loving heart. Owen and Sullivan joined forces in 1997 and OWEN-SULLIVAN was born. In recent years Washington State has become internationally recognized as having some of the world's best conditions for growing superb wine grapes. O•S Winery (Owen•Sullivan)was created in 1997 with one goal in mind; to capitalize on this resource by securing fruit from the best vineyards to craft some of the Northwest's finest wines. This focus on select sites, combined with a winemaking ethic centered on simplicity (i.e. no filtering, no fining), gives our wines a more generous mouth feel and a more complete flavor profile. Our wines are aged exclusively in French oak barrels with approximately 35% new and the remainder in second, third and fourth year. Bottling is done by gravity. Our style emphasizes the terroir and the specific quality of the fruit, with the oak in a supporting role. The results are opulent, voluptuous and concentrated wines that are immensely pleasing in their youth, yet possess the structure and balance to reward cellaring. Our first vintage consisted of 80 cases of 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon. Last year we produced 2000 cases including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Semillon, Muscat and R3 -- a "Bordeaux blend" of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

"M"
Classic Klipsun Vineyard, powerful and elegant wine brimming with dark fruit flavors of Kirsch and black cherries. Subtle aromas of cloves and cinnamon lead to a silky mouthfeel with muscular tannins and a seamless texture. Complexity continues to the lengthy finish where notes of cocoa and plum unfold, leaving a lasting impression.

BSH
OMG! The ’05 BSH is off-the-charts delicious. Brooding aromas of crushed black fruits with hints of espresso and mint. The structure and mouth-feel are superb. The black cherry cassis and blackberry flavors are nicely edged with notes of dark roast coffee. The fruit, the tannins, the acidity and the alcohol are all in perfect harmony delivering a super-sensual texture highlighted by the rich tannins and the savory, lengthy finish.

Cabernet Franc
Dark aromas of blackberry and crushed rose petal precede a beautifully textured mouth feel with dense, dark, fruit balanced by savory acidity and rich chewy tannins. There are classic Champoux Cab Franc flavors of black cherry and espresso that combine with the soft, enveloping tannins for an especially long and pleasing finish.

Red Blend
Exquisitely plush and velvet textured, the O-S ’06 Red has fragrant
aromas of black fruits, espresso and roses. The rich dark-toned flavors of black plum, coffee and cassis are seamlessly framed with firm but subtle tannins. It’s an exceptionally versatile wine with food as well as a first rate glass on its own.

Riesling
9.5% alc.! 3.0 pH! 9 grams/L acidity! 30 yr. old vines! The above factors come together in a mouthwatering and irresistible expression of Owen’s love for Riesling. White flowers, petrol and slate on the nose. Green apple, citrus and lime wrapped in mineral edged acidity. This is a wine that is intense and subtle at the same time, and is incredibly refreshing. It brings out the best in any shellfish from oysters to lobster, and pork dishes, not to mention sushi.

Ulysses
Gorgeous, dense, purple-red, classic Sheridan Vineyard aromas and flavors: loganberry and cassis notes on the nose wrapped in a subtle veil of cabin smoke. The familiar silky Sheridan texture shows a more muscular side here reflecting this quality of the ’05 vintage in general. The flavors are balanced between the wonderful dark fruit: black cherry, plum, cassis and the meaty, toasty and leather notes. This is destined for a very long life in the cellar (20-30 yrs) for anyone with the patience.
