Sullivan Vineyards presents our 2001 Coeur de Vigne , French for Heart of the Vine or Heart of the Vineyard. Styled after a French Bordeaux wine, this blended wine of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot was hand-selected by our winemaker after a rigorous and precise screening process. Historically, particular lots within our estate have consistently yielded fruit of a higher quality than others; it is from these lots that we select the barrels that will eventually constitute the Coeur de Vigne. Enjoy this wine now, but consider cellaring the wine for a minimum of 5 years, as the structure and balance will greatly improve with time.

The 2003 vintage resulted in complex flavors and beautiful tannins with a bright ruby color. The aroma is very spicy with notes of licorice, clove, nutmeg and white pepper. Raspberry, spearmint and floral notes weave their perfume through the spices.The taste is crisp and fresh with bright tannins. Toffee flavors feel the mouth with a long finish as well as dark chocolate. Age this wine for about ten years or drink now if you wish, but decant first.

This wine has big fruit, supple tannin, and a lingering finish. This wine has a nose of red and black fruits that jump out of the glass. Strawberry jam, cranberry, candied fruits, toffee, caramel, fern, and licorice. The entry in the mouth is silky followed by a fat and round mid palate. A long and structured finsih lasting more than 50 seconds exudes lots of fruit and spices like nutmeg, allspice, and clove. This wine will achieve more smoothness and complexity in years to come.

Our 2001 Merlot is a perfect example of Sullivan Vineyards' style: a big, bold red wine with capacity for long-term aging. The aromasthat comeforth are of red-candied fruit, with hints of cranberry, caramel, strawbery jam, and flowers. This Merlot is both bright and expressive; it explodes on the palate with flavors of cherry, pomegranate, and caramel. The wine was barrel-aged for a total of 14 months, using a combination of American and French Oak.

Our 2003 Chardonnay strikes a perfect balance between fruit, acidity, and oak. Perfect for warm nights by the pool or as an accompaniment with food, this Chardonnay exhibits notes of pineapple, butterscotch, and citrus. We retained the fruitiness of the Chardonnay grape and simultaneously balanced that with voluptuous layers of vanilla & oak. A meticulous blend of tank & barrel fermentation and aging, the wine imparts fruit and crispness complimented with complex layers of oak.

Grapes for our Private Reserve Chardonnay are sourced from the Green Island Vineyard, located by the San Pablo Bay. This area of Carneros displays cool, windy conditions which promote the development of intense flavors. This Chardonnay smells of loads of citrus, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, honey and apricot. The wine is well balanced, layerd and rich while maintaining crispness. The entry is smooth and silky followed by a round, layered voluptuous midpalate. The finish lasts about 30 seconds. Interlaced aromas of lemon and apricot run throughout the wine.

Red Ink, our propriety name for this lively and approachable wine, reflects the color of the ruby and violet highlights (Red Ink!). This wine has the aroma of candied fruit: strawberry, cranberry, earthy notes, leather and a hint of mint. The luscious aromas of fruit, earthiness and leather weave complex layers throughout the wine. The finish is very long, exuding berries, spices, and butterscotch. Open a bottle of Red Ink for dinner; you will not be disappointed. It's easy to drink, and very easy to enjoy. Cheers!

Un-fined, un-filtered, un-racked. Just the pure beauty of what the 2002 vintage produced in the Sullivan Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. Perfect wine for aging and enjoying for the special occasion. 100 cases produced. This wine smells of blackberry, black cherry, cranberry, pepper, sap, menthol, and camphor. The mouth entry is bright, clear and silky with aromas of chocolate, ripe black fruits and spice. An extremely long finish lasting more than 90 seconds with very strong flavors of dark chocolate and coffee.

This wine is big, ripe, and luscious and produced all from the Rutherford Estate. The aromas of ripe, candied red luscious fruits, hints of mint, licorice, toffee, bing cherry, and blueberry fill the nose. The mouthfeel is complex, luscious, very rich and fat, yet balanced. The fruit explodes in the mouth with bing cherry, strawberry, plum, and blueberry all mingled with loads of toffee. The finish lasts more than 60 seconds. Buy it while it lasts.
