Samuel and David Coelho started Dois Irmãos, Portuguese for “Two Brothers,” in 2008 with an aim to produce Old World and age-worthy wines. The Coelho brothers source grapes from select vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley and craft one annual Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that they believe best represents the region and vintage. They distribute this small-production wine only to a handful of retailers and restaurants, and occasionally share with the Coelho Winery wine club.
With their inaugural wine, the 2008 Dois Irmãos, the Coelho brothers proved themselves right out of the gate. Displaying a Burgundian quality of elegance with complexity and depth, this impressive wine is a gorgeous display of the stunning vintage, and will only gain more nuance with time.
