Denner Vineyards & Winery

During 1997 and 1998 Ron and Marilyn Denner traveled all over California, visiting virtually every winegrowing region. They visited Napa 6 times. They made deals. Deals fell through. Finally Ron's sister saw an article in Sunset Magazine touting the undiscovered wine region of Paso Robles. Packing to return from a fifth visit to Paso Robles, their realtor called and told them to change their ticket. They saw the perfect property that evening and knew, "This is it. This is exactly what it's about." They purchased the 126 acres that is now Denner Vineyards as well as 30 contiguous acres for the winery site. The first vine was planted on Ron and Marilyn's 31st wedding anniversary, August 31, 1999. The vineyard now includes 10 grape varieties, several of which are French clones very new to the United States. Varieties include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Viognier, Roussanne, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Zinfandel.
