Located north of Hill City on scenic South Dakota Hwy 385, Stone Faces Winery is Valiant Vineyard's second winery. Valiant Vineyard's was founded in 1996 by Eldon and Sherry Nygaard. Eldon wrote the South Dakota's Farm Winery Act and then established the First Winery in the State. Located in the Black Hills, Stone Faces Winery opened in July 2009. The Nygaards and this generations winemaker, Leif Nygaard, bring new world influences to old style wine making. Stone Faces Winery is a place to celebrate wine and the wine experience. Feel free to come and share a taste, a glass, or a bottle. The estate is pleasing and enjoyable, situated on 10 wooded acres, Stone Faces has a beautiful new winery facility and tasting room that sits up on the hillside in a picturesque valley. The winery produces an array of high-end wines recognized for their quality. The tasting room is a rather large room, with great views of the hillsides and valleys in both directi0ns.
