Rochioli Vineyards and Winery
|
|
With three generations of dedication to the land, Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County's finest wineries. This family legacy began in 1938, when Joe Rochioli Sr. purchased land he had long farmed. He had the foresight to know that the soil of the Russian River Valley would one day produce some of the world's greatest wines. His son Joe Jr. embraced this vision and today craft renowned, terrior-driven wines built on a foundation of superb fruit.

Chardonnay
This wine is a blend from our Estate Chardonnay vineyards. The blend consists of sixty-six percent Mid 40, twenty-two percent River Block, and twelve percent South River Vineyard. It is a fine example of the unique characters from our property and the Russian River Valley. Aromas of ripe apple, tropical fruit, vanilla and a touch of spice combine with the rich apple flavors and crisp acidity. Although young now, those with the patience to cellar this wine will be rewarded.

Pinot Noir
The grapes for this wine were selected from our many different vineyard sites. It possesses the typical Rochioli character and the classic Russian River Valley charm. Aged in French oak for 15 months it displays a full body and a silky textured finish with a firm and balanced structure. The blend is seventy percent from the Sweetwater vineyard and thirty percent from distinguished sites on our property.

Sauvignon Blanc
Forty-eight percent is from our newest planting of a very special and rare clone, forty percent is from the original Sauvignon Blanc vineyard planted in 1959, and twelve percent is from our seventeen year old hillside vineyard. Twenty-five percent of this blend is barrel fermented, which gives this wine its complexity and round texture. The balance is tank fermented to preserve its intense varietal character and firm acidity.
