Yoakim Bridge Vineyards & Winery
|
|
Our winery and estate are nestled on four acres of land at the northern end of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County. After graduating from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco in 1994, David Cooper and I joined together in pursuit of the perfect small vineyard and winery that we could manage ourselves to bring to life our passion for wine, food and friendship. The treasure of our vineyard is our 40-year old head-trained, dry-farmed Zinfandel vines well known for producing fine wines of extraordinary character and intensity. Our landmark homestead and winery consists of an 1886 Victorian farmhouse and a warm and rustic tasting room enhanced with a stunning valley view. Over the last decade, people like you have happened upon us through word of mouth or on your travels through our wine country and have experienced and enjoyed our hand-crafted wines. During this time, we like to think that we've created something special here: Our family of wines have been critically honored; we've shared some wonderful experiences with amazing people (you know who you are!); and now we're honored to share our story with you. Welcome to Yoakim Bridge...

1999 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Our most elegant vintage yet! Exquisitely balanced with layers of dark cherry, ripe plums, raspberry and chocolate enhanced with notes of black pepper and vanilla. Silky blend of Dry Creek Valley Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and Estate dry farmed, old Zinfandel ensured another Yoakim Bridge classic. Filtered in anticipation of great aging capabilities guaranteeing years of enjoyment. The Wine Enthusiast gives this beauty a rating of 90.

1999 Yoakim Bridge Merlot
A proud first for us! Grown on the western bench of Dry Creek Valley, this stunning wine spent 18 months aging in our very best French oak barrels. It is well structured, polished and intense. The extracted dark fruit flavor is overlaid with notes of currents and chocolate. Beautiful lingering finish.

2000 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Earthy, full bodied and intensely rich wine loaded with deep layers of black fruit. A lengthy finish with lingering notes of spice, black pepper and soft tannins add to the balanced complexity of this Gold Medal winning wine. The 2000 is one of only five Zinfandels to win a Gold Medal for the 2000 vintage at the San Francisco Chronicle North Coast Wine Competition

2000 Yoakim Bridge Three Valley Cuveé
Proprietary blend of noble red grapes has been vinted and bottled from small, select vineyards representing the pride of three valleys in Sonoma County: Dry Creek Valley Merlot, Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and Russian River Valley Cabernet Franc. This labor intensive, food-loving wine is perfectly balanced, bright and crisp. Engaging floral nose followed by a complex marriage of the best qualities of each varietal. It is elegant now yet will continue to evolve should you have the discipline to lay it down.

2001 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Syrah
Grown on the eastern bench of Dry Creek Valley, Palindrome Vineyard Syrah lived up to our greatest expectations. The fruit is deep, dark and jammy with overlays of smoke, caramel and a hint of leather. The mouth-feel is chewy, very well rounded, with smooth, lingering finish. Delicious now, but promises even greater complexity and finesse with cellar aging.

2001 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
This award winning estate grown beauty is exceptional. It is rich, deep and complex with layers of raspberry fruit, black pepper and a hint of chocolate. Moderate tannins give way to a long, satisfying finish. Absolutely delicious.

2002 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Syrah
Purchased by the ROW, our second vintage of Palindrome Vineyard Syrah surpassed even OUR expectations. The vines increasing age added substantially to it's intense varietal character. Rich, dark berry fruit explodes with layers of smoke, vanilla, leather and a hint of juniper berries. We love this bold wine with venison, lamb and authentic dark chili dishes. Very limited production.

2002 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
In May of 2002, approximately 40% of our estate Zinfandel was lost to high winds and driving rain that shattered our fragile, young blossoms. That's the bad news. The good news is that Mother Natures' severe pruning produced an extremely intense, complex and fruity wine. It is a classic! The nose is that of dark berry fruit, black pepper, spice The overlays of lightly toasted oak, hints of chocolate and smoke promise to live up to your heartiest and most celebratory culinary fare. DELICIOUS! Taste a bottle tonight, and you will want to both cellar and share this magnificent vintage.
