Tudal Winery

|
Tudal winery was founded in 1974 with a rich heritage for making wine. Founded by Arnold Tudal on ten acres of land and with advice from Louis P. Martini he planted Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest is a Napa Valley story to be told. With the 1978 vintage there was enough wine to sell on a small scale. "We didn't even intend to go into the wine business" explains Arnold's son, John, who took over the vineyard and winery in 2001 when his parent retired. Today the Tudal family continues to produce a top Cabernet Sauvignon vintage and some wonderful blends with their Flat Bed Red and Tractor Shed Red wines. We hope you enjoy our story and our wines and thanks for visiting.

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
In the glass, our Old Vine is moderately intense and has a medium dark ruby color. On the palate the wine expresses a forward Bing cherry flavor with blackberry undertones. The wine shows considerable richness and concentration. The pleasant tannins on the finish will insure this wine will cellar for at least ten to fifteen years. This limited production of hand crafted Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon will be an excellent and valued addition to your cellar.

Flat Bed Red
Tudal Winery is pleased to release our first vintage of Flat Bed Red (“FBR”). Our family used flatbed trucks on our vegetable farm. This wine and its label are a tribute to all of the flatbeds working the farms and vineyards of America. This is a gutsy, real drinking wine with no foo-foo, a wine as honest and authentic as we are. The label reflects that feelings in a vivid and friendly way. FBR is a blend of Zinfandel (90%) and Petite Syrah (10%) both of which are from the Napa Valley. The Zinfandel is from 100 year-old vines. Zinfandel provides jammy raspberry up front flavors. Petite Syrah adds a hint of boysenberry and a wild spicy long-lasting finish. Prior to bottling we finished the wine with an aging of medium oak toast. We trust this bottle of FBR will be a valued addition to your everyday enjoyment. In addition, we believe FBR has the ability to age until 2010. Cheers!

Tractor Shed Red
Tudal Winery has been producing premium Cabernet Sauvignon since 1979. In 1997 we wanted to pay tribute to all the farmers who put food on our table, thus our Tractor Shed Red (“TSR”) was born. We are pleased to release our sixth vintage of TSR. We feel our blend of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (20%) and Zinfandel (20%) is unique and fun. the Sangiovese is the base providing the cherry, strawberry and up front fruit. The Merlot generates texture and a nice velvety middle. Finishing up the palate is the Zinfandel, which provides the backbone and extra spice. We are confident that once you try this wine you’ll agree it’s a fun and enjoyable everyday drinking wine from the Napa Valley. Enjoy!

Tractor Shed Red (750ml)
udal Winery is proud to announce the release of the 7th vintage of our Gold Medal award-winning Tractor Shed Red. In 1997, John Tudal dragged the family?sup>TMs 1947 Massey Harris antique tractor out of the weeds and displayed it in front of the old dilapidated tractor shed. To make a long story short, the shed got a face lift and that old ?sup>TM47 Massey Harris looks pretty darn good sitting out front.
