Montoliva Vineyard & Winery
|
|
The original settlers of Chicago Park were first-generation Italian-Americans from Chicago, Illinois. The orchards and vineyards of Chicago Park bear witness to their quest to start a community in the untamed West that mirrored their homeland. Their spirit lives on at Montoliva Vineyard & Winery. Founded in 2000, Montoliva Vineyard & Winery creates Tuscan-inspired wines of uncommon depth and character.
Mark Henry is the owner, vineyardist and winemaker. Julianne Atwood’s official title is “Wine Muse”, a designation that belies her efforts at keeping things under control. Together, they welcome the opportunity to walk you through the vineyards, fountains, “go-ahead, pick some” herb garden and, of course, the winery.

Pinot Grigio
Sourced from the Jackrabbit Vineyard, the only Pinot Grigio vineyard in the North Sierra Foothills. These ten year old vines produce some exceptional fruit. Our Pinot Grigio is slightly sweet, with lots of melon in the nose. A delightful summer aperitif. Only 85 cases produced.
|
Rose
80% Syrah, 20% Sangiovese. By combining the fruity aromas of Syrah with the refreshing acidity of Sangiovese, Montoliva Vineyard & Winery has created a Rose that is equal parts frivolity and substance. The pleasing strawberry nose delights, the palate cleansing finish satisfies; it's perfect for those warm Sierra Foothill summer afternoons.

Sangiovese
Dark and earthy, with a solid structure and just enough fruit character to balance the abundant tannins. A terrific wine with your favorite pasta dish.
|
Sinistra
A “Super Tuscan” blend of Sanigovese, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Aglianico. A truly complex wine, and our personal favorite.
|
Syrah
Inky and rich. Extended macerations give this wine a depth not often found in California Syrah. This wine is good with food, and great standing alone.
