Darighe

Darighe Blessed with a keen ability to blend and a passion that keeps him in constant pursuit of the ultimate Bordeaux style combination, Tom Campbell has built an amazing career around his love of delighting wine connoisseurs. After attending the University of California at Davis as a post graduate student in Enology and Viticulture, Tom went on to work for Jekel in Monterey, beginning a career immersed in the world of wine. In 1981 he was an enologist at Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Grandview Winery, later moving on to head the white wine program at Quail Run, now known as Covey Run. By the mid 1980s Tom started Horizon’s Edge Winery in Zillah, Washington. Tom’s reputation as an accomplished winemaker and consultant prompted his nephew, Bijal Shah, to approach him to create wines for Darighe in 1998, specifically a small lot of Bordeaux style blends.

The vibrant and well-regarded Darighe has been catching wine fanatics by storm for the past two years. The 2000 Vintage has a predominantly Cabernet base, giving it more of a muscular structure than previous years. The ranting and raving has just begun, and it is delivering above and beyond expectations! Bottled at the Konnawac Vineyards in Yakima Valley, Darighe has been aged for two years in 90% French and 10% New American Oak Barrels. The Bordeaux blend is comprised of 42% Cabernet, 16.5% Merlot, 16.5% Petit Verdot and 25% Malbec, containing 13.5% alcohol per 750ml.
  Darighe
Darighe is a wine reminiscent of the Old World, with classic Washington earth tones, soft tannins and a refreshing acidity, which lingers in the finish. The 2001 Darighe is a Bordeaux Style Blend from our Konnowac Vineyards in Yakima Valley. Aged two years in 100% French Oak (90% New, 10% 1-Year-Old Barrels) Composition is 31% Cabernet, 29% Merlot, 21.5% Petit Verdot, 18.5% Malbec.
  Dussek Cabernet Sauvignon
The deeply flavored 2002 vintage is a sharply defined Cabernet that hits all the right notes! Ripe and supple, the seductive plum, berry, cassis, floral, jasmine and spice flavors weave together to create a structure and balance. Mineral, cedar, and anise complete the long, elegant finish. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot.
