Kason Vineyards' primary vineyard sits on 15 acres of sloping valley terrace at 325 feet above sea level in Oregon's Yamhill-Carlton District, an American Viticultural Area rapidly gaining reknown for its exemplary Pinot Noir. Situated in the rain shadow of Oregon's coast range and surrounded by wide vistas of open hills and fields, our vineyard benefits from low humidity and exceptional airflow. Such conditions offer our vines enhanced protection from fungal diseases which can devastate harvests and compromise vine health. The vineyard's soil is comprised of Woodburn silt loam and Willakenzie loam, a mix of soil that drains well and allows us to produce grapes that yield both intense fruit character and fully developed structure.
