Stacked Stone Cellars
|
|
Stacked Stone Cellars began in 1998 when owner Donald Thiessen united his love of fine craftsmanship to his love of winemaking. With a reputation for the finest woodwork available, Donald knows the commitment it takes to create a world class product. Stacked Stone was named after the elaborate stacked stone landscaping adorning the grounds where his wines are made. Donald has worked closely with many well known vineyards in the Paso Robles area to grow high quality fruit capable of producing world-class wines. Stacked Stone Cellar's estate vineyard has been managed deligently to consistently produce some of the finest winegrapes within the Paso Robles appellation. Donald took full advantage of his vineyard's westside soils and specific micro-climate by planting traditionally head pruned, dry-land-farmed Zinfandel. Through prudent viticultural practices and by carefully managing crop loads, this estate vineyard consistently produces highly concentrated and complex wines, focused with bright jammy fruit and cracked peppercorn. Stacked Stone harvested and vinified its first commercial vintage in 2002 producing nearly 1000 cases. Although Stacked Stone's primary focus is Zinfandel, other wines also produced include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux blends, Syrah, Petite Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and two different fortified Port-style wines. Nestled within our surrounding vineyards and ancient oak studded rolling hills is our beautiful dinning area and tasting room. We offer a perfect location for any special event including catered dinners, weddings, birthdays, or any event of your choice.
