The Atlas Peak viticulture area is located in the Vaca Mountain Range, which forms the eastern slopes of the Napa Valley. At 1,800 feet above sea level, Elan Vineyards enjoys a unique microclimate. The vineyard receives cooling mountain breezes from the San Francisco Bay, which offer refuge from the hot summer daytime temperatures. While coastal fog regularly blankets the Valley, it is unusual here at the altitude of the vineyard. The vines receive more sun exposure during the growing season, but without the high temperatures that sometimes occur in the Napa Valley. he nights are cool at our high altitude, even in the summer months. A 20-degree temperature drop from the daily highs is common. Patrick believes this variation allows the fruit to mature slowly, resulting in well-balanced wines with remarkable complexity.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Elan Vineyards 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and multi-layered. It displays chocolate and spicy black cherry fruit, with tobacco, sage and mint. On the palate, intense ripe cassis, bergamot, vanilla and dry cocoa are interlaced with soft, supple tannins, leading to a long, lingering, integrated finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon
A classic Elan Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2000 vintage offers dense currant, black cherry, cocoa and cassis, as well as toasty oak aromas. Full bodied with rich, soft tannins. The wine is well balanced with a long, lingering finish. It may be enjoyed now but will age effortlessly for a minimum of twelve years. Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 1999 Elan Vineyards Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning vintage, it is the perfect marriage of meticulous winemaking and mountain grown fruit. Smooth and rich with a wide spectrum of currant, ripe black cherries, toasted chestnuts, sage and anise flavors. Full on the palate with plenty of varietal extract, it is remarkably refined and complex on the finish. Case production 880. Limit six (6) bottles per order.

2002 marks the Ten Year Anniversary of Elan Vineyards hand crafting elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from their Atlas Peak estate. You will find our 2002 vintage offers rich aromas of blueberry, ripe raspberry and black currants, interlaced with coffee, creamy oak and anise. On the palate, a velvety mouth feel with a seductive core of ripe berries and hints of lavender and herbes de provence leads to a long, elegant finish.
