The Pines 1852

The Pines 1852 The Pines Vineyard has been the focus of our efforts for years, but in 2001 we added another focus. We decided that our grapes were so phenomenal that we had to make wine! The Pines 1852 is a family-owned and operated winery and vineyard. Our passion for the grape is clear when you sample one of our estate-grown, limited production boutique wines. We are involved in each step of getting the grape into the bottle: from hand-picking the grapes, to bottling, to hand-waxing the neck. We hope you celebrate our efforts by opening and enjoying a bottle of The Pines wine.

  "Able Vineyard" Pinot Noir
Our first Pinot Noir! The Able Vineyard is located in the lower Hood River Valley. This delicate Pinot has a silky entry with black cherry, allspice and hints of oak on the finish. Enjoy with salmon, pasta, and pork.
  Big Red
Your favorite blend of Cabernet Sauv., Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel is back! This wine brings together the best of four wines for a hearty blend with a full mouth-feel. Long legs, jammy berries, and a peppery finish make this wine great with steak and pasta.
  Grenache/Syrah Blend
We played with the Grenache in our Big Red last year and was impressed by its characteristics. This blend of 66% Grenache and 34% Syrah is a smooth, earthy wine with a delicate finish: perfect for pairing with a meal.
  Merlot
Deep, luscious in color, this Merlot has a smooth, velvety mouth-feel with hints of huckleberry, dark chocolate and a black pepper finish. Enjoy with steak, pasta, and veal.
  Old Vine Zinfandel
Planted by an Italian stone mason in the late 1800s, this Zinfandel is from one of the oldest vineyards in the Northwest. This Zin displays complexity of flavors that only come with age with rich jammy berries, dark chocolate, and hints of peppercorn. Its long legs and fullbodied finish make this wine a favorite with steak.
  Pinot Gris
After much anticipation, our crowd-pleasing Gris is back. Our 2006 vintage displays characteristics of pears and green apple with a hint of grapefruit. Serve chilled and enjoy on a warm summer day.
  Pinot Noir
Grown at 1100 ft elevation, our Huber Vineyard Pinot is a well-balanced pinot noir that displays ripe cherry flavors with hints of cinnamon. Pairs well with salmon, pasta, and pork.
  Satin
This white blend of 50% Pinot Gris and 50% Gewurztraminer combines the best of both worlds: a beautiful floral bouquet from the Gewurz paired with the fruity, crisp Pinot Gris. This white is sure to pair well with fish and chicken.
  Sweet Sierra
Our port-syle zinfandel shows characteristics of lush cherries and rich chocolate. This fruit-forward port tantalizes your taste buds from start to finish. The Pines founder, Lonnie Wright, wanted to name this reserve wine after his daughter, Sierra.
  Syrah
A deep garnet Syrah with a full body of fruit flavors and long legs. It displays characteristics of lush blueberry, blackberry, and marionberry. Enjoy with chocolate, steak, and your favorite Italian dish.
  Viognier
A classic viognier with its floral bouquet and smooth, silky finish. This wine pairs well with seafood, thai, chicken, and pork.
  Zinfandel
It's back! Our 20-year old Zinfandel vineyard was planted off of starts from our Old Vine Zin. Like the Old Vine, it displays intense fruit flavors with rich jammy berries and a smooth, velvety finish.
