The "Goat Blocks" are two city blocks between SE Belmont and Taylor and SE 11th and 10th Avenues, a previously undeveloped area of land in Portland's Eastside Industrial District. For three years, rental goats occupied the land to keep grass down while the area awaited development. However, in October of 2012, a local company called Creative Woodworking NW bought their own goats to occupy the land. They expected them to keep the grass down, but what they didn't expect is for an entire community to fall in love with these furry lawn mowers.
