  Barbera, Amador County
This wine was made in a “Submerged Cap” Fermentation Tank. It was aged in French and American oak barrels for a full year. This wine has very distinctive cherry, plum and blackberry aromas and cranberry and pomegranate flavors with well balanced acidity. The wine shows good structure and complexity in the mid-palate and has a lingering finish of coffee and anise.
  C.G. Di Arie Petite Sirah
This wine was made in our “Submerged Cap Fermentation Tank”. It was aged in French oak barrels for a full year. This well balanced wine starts with the fruit forward of dark berries and ripe plum, which grows in intensity in the mid-palate adding layers of chocolate, coffee and vanilla with a long finish of licorice and mocha.
  C.G. Di Arie Syrah
This wine exemplifies the style of wine that I like to create It has a deep color and a classic Syrah aroma of green & black peppercorn combined with a woodsy and pine character. This wine has four flavor components: the fruit component is a strong jammie cassis; the oak component is of vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg; the savory component is of grilled meat, especially in the first sip; and the finish leads to black pepper and back to cassis.
  C.G. Di Arie Zinfandel
The grapes for this wine came part from Fred Gunther’s vineyard and part from Oakmont Vineyard. The wine was made in our “Submerged Cap Fermentation Tank” and aged for about a year in predominantly French Oak barrels. The aroma of this wine is dominated by dark berries integrated with oak elements. It reminds me of hiking in a redwood forest. The fruit forward of dark berries grows in intensity in the mid-palate adding layers of chocolate and vanilla. The wine has a long finish with dominating black pepper. Overall, this wine is very well balanced with strong varietal identity.
  Di Arie Rose
This dry Rose wine was made in the French style from the free run juice from all the red variety wines that were processed during the 2004 vintage year. The majority of grapes used in this wine came from Zinfandel, Syrah and Petite Sirah with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Barbera. Fermented in stainless steel and then aged in oak for three months, this delicious Rose has structure, complexity and balance common to wines with great pedigree. Expect flavors of grapefruit and apricot with a crisp and clean lingering finish.
  Di Arie Zinfandel- Amador County
My style of wine is fully extracted with fruit forward, good balance, a complex mid-palate and a long lingering finish. This Zinfandel meets all the criteria of my style of wine. It is well balanced with deep color and typical varietal flavor and aroma. The black cherry flavors progress in the mid-palate to blackberry and plum and the bold finish of chocolate lingers pleasantly long after the wine is consumed.
  Primitivo - Shenandoah Valley
This wine was made in a “Submerged Cap” Fermentation Tank. It was aged in French and American oak barrels for a full year. This wine has deep black cherry, plum and blackberry aromas. The wine shows good structure and complexity in the mid-palate with well balanced acidity. It has a lingering powerful and at the same time soft finish of black cherry, mocha and spice.
  Verdelho - Shenandoah Valley
Verdelho is a Portuguese variety originating and grown extensively in the island of Madeira. It is considered to be the noble white wine of Madeira. I purchased the grapes of this wine from a small vineyard on Shenandoah Road. This is a semi-dry, highly aromatic wine with lively acidity and with flavor notes of grapefruit, pineapple, tropical fruit and a lingering finish.
