We are a family operated winery & vineyard and the oldest winery in Henderson County. Tara is located in East Texas approximately 75 miles southeast of Dallas and 5 miles NW of downtown Athens just 1 & 1/2 miles off HWY 175. We invite you to join us in a "Sip of Texas" on Tara's lovely flagstone patio overlooking the young vineyard and rolling panoramic hills of East Texas!

Directions
We are located off HWY 175 to the East approximately 1 1/2 miles from the HWY 175 just northwest of Athens towards Dallas. Proceed from Athens on HWY 175, take a right on CR 3918, turn left on CR 3914 go 1 mile and winery will be on your left in the Maroon (aggie red) building. You can't miss the vineyard in the front of the winery property!

American Chardonnay
With French Oak Notes. Barrel aged in french oak barrels, a pleasant crisp dry wine with chardonnary aromas with hints of french oak.

American Merlot
A perfectly balanced dry red wine with complex wine notes. Perfect for any meal, cheese & crackers, or other hors d'oeuvres. This wine was aged in American Oak. (limited supply remaining, more to be bottled soon).

American Syrah
Que Syrah, Syrah!! Absolutely delicious well balanced red wine with a well rounded finish. Syrah was originally known from the Rhone wine region in France.

Blanc du Bois Semi-Sweet
A wonderful refreshing Texas white wine from grapes grown in Texas. Fresh, fruity, aromatic refreshing white wine. Blanc du Bois grapes are now growing in Tara's vineyard. Great for a sip of texas or with spicy foods.

Gone with the Zin (American Zinfandel)
A spicy full bodied red dark wine with intense depth that pairs with bold foods such as grilled steak, lamb, dark chocolate, and even sushi. This is Tara's best selling full bodied, hearty red wine.

Stagecoach Red
Aged in American Oak. This is a blend, with the varieties aged in American Oak and then blended. Stagecoach is made partially with local Black Spanish grapes harvested from Athens Texas. The wine has fruit forward aromas with nice smooth barrel finish. Served room temperature or slightly chilled. Limited edition- 100 cases.

Texas Blanc du Bois Dry
It's back! This is Tara's signature wine. From picking the grapes to bottling, the Pierce family has done it all with this one.

Texas MADEIRA
100% Jacquez grapes, grown in the Gulf Coast Region of Texas. Made using the traditional “Estufagem” (es too FAH jem) process & made by Raymond HAAK. The wine barrels have been “madeirized” in a special, heated cellar with temperatures averaging between 102°F to 106°F. Madeira has a deep, caramel color, as well as aromas of coffee, caramel, walnuts, and plums. Flavors are rich and balanced, with a long, sumptuous finish on the palate.

Texas Sangiovese
A light complex spicy red Italian styled wine. (Limited supply).

Texas Sweet Scarlet Rose
A full bodied Texas sweet red wine. This wonderfully balanced red full bodied wine is not too sweet and must try! Serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy this wine for leisurely sipping or with a hearty Texas meal.
