Lakehill Vineyards is a small estate grown vineyard and winery nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Callaway, Virginia. Our grapes include some of our favorite French varietals, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, and Viognier.
How did we choose the name Lakehill Vineyards? We chose our name to honor Lakehill Dairy Farm, the family farm where Ferris grew up. So, there is no lake! However, Franklin County has breathtaking lakes and hills that are nearby. The vineyard is in Algoma Valley, which has a rich history for growing fruit, historically apple trees. Our vineyard benefits from the thermal inversion and the cool nights of the surrounding mountains. Boosting wine quality by delaying grape ripening (longer hang times) and preserving the aromatics.
