West Hanover Winery

Westhanover Winery is housed in the home of owners George and Rosemary Kline. It began in the fall of 1997. On site are 2,400 grape plants and 10 varieties of grapes. The winery produces 2,000 gallons a year at this time. It is a very quiet setting with a shaded area and picnic tables for folks to come and enjoy a picnic lunch with some wine. When we started planting we had a very small area to work with so we planted the plants three to four feet apart and only sixty two inch rows. This gives me a smaller grape at harvest but high in sugar at harvest because of spacing. We have cool nights that and hot days; the grapes do very well. The production area sits next to the tasting room. Raspberries, Blueberries, Peach trees, and Apple Trees are mixed among the vineyard. Hours: Mon 12-6; Tue-Thur: 12- 6:30; Fri 12- 8; Sat 12- 6:30.

Directions
Take exit 77 from I-81, just east of Harrisburg. Go south to Jonestown Rd. From Hershey, go north on Rt. 39 to Old Jonestown Rd. Make a left, winery is 0.9 mile on right.
