Prive Vineyard

Prive Vineyard Great wine begins in the vineyard, and our Privé (private) estate grown grapes have always been our passion. We are honored to provide you with an extraordinary Pinot Noir that is truly hand crafted from the vine to the bottle. Harmony in the vineyard is anchored in our old vines, planted in 1980 and located on the respected Chehalem Mountain. We carry our grapes at harvest directly from the vineyard to the winery, where every cluster is hand inspected to meet our high standards of excellence before destemming. Our wine is then gently and meticulously handled from fermentation to aging in all French Oak barrels. Our “French style” boutique winery produces just 250 cases per year, so be sure to join our mailing list to insure that you are notified when your wine is released.

Le Nord Yamhill County Pinot Noir
“le nord” is our northern block of the vineyard and is southwest facing, planted in Jory soil and at the perfect elevation. We believe that a young Pinot Noir should possess an enjoyable fruit upfront, with intense characteristics complimented by the moderate use of new oak. This wine is made with approximately 25% new French Oak in order to let the “terroir” show without having to wait years for the aging process to take place. We recommend enjoying this wine in the first five to seven years.
Le Sud Yamhill County Pinot Noir
“le sud” is the lower block of our vineyard, it is southwest facing and is lower in elevation by about 100 feet than the main vineyard. The slight difference in location provides earlier ripening and some different characteristics in the wine. We feel that the combination of the age of the vines and our low-yield vineyard practices provides this intense fruit with such complexity that it holds up extremely well to 100% new French Oak. The barrels that are chosen support the velvety smooth and complex fruit we desire in this Pinot Noir. We recommend cellaring this wine for three to eight years and possibly more as it will age gracefully in your cellar.
