Cowan Vineyards is a family owned and operated business. Growing our own grapes gives us a definite advantage. We decide the best varieties for our soil, the direction the rows are planted for the best sunlight, and we control the amount of water so the grapes do not get over saturated. We control every aspect of the grape all the way to crush. After the grapes are crushed, we decide which juice goes into what barrels and then age them at least twelve to sixteen months. We decide when to bottle and have our own storage so the barrels stay at the right temerature and humidity. When your goal is to make the best wine, you have to control the quality from the ground up!

Cabernet Franc
Often used in blending to enhance other varietals, this “cousin” of Cabernet Sauvignon is experiencing increased popularity on its own.
Exceptional in its fruit forward nature and smoothness, the tannins are beautifully integrated allowing a subtle hint of butterscotch on the finish.

Cabernet Franc Select
The Barrel Select is a bigger version of the original. Barrels have been carefully selected because of their distinctive character and finish. Butterscotch and cranberry notes sail through the finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Cowan Vineyard Estate grown cabernet grapes gives this wine solid tannins which provides perfect balances for drinking now or cellaring for a few years. Allowing this wine to breathe enhances the subtle butterscotch and raspberry flavors.

Gewürztraminer
A dry wine that is great with food.
The classic aromas of minerals, pears, apricots, grapefruit zest, and delicate spices are abundant in this Gewürztraminer.
Bright fruit that is perfectly balanced with amazing acidity carries through to a long finish with subtle hints of grapefruit.

Merlot
There is plenty of dark cherry taste in this velvety fruit forward styled merlot. The creaminess and lightly toasted oak make this a true delight.

Red Head Rosé
Far beyond your everyday Rosé this 100% Cabernet Franc Rosé is beautifully focused to show off off the softer, lighter side of the grape varietal. The enciting hint of spice (cinnamon, clove) and crabapple flavors are balanced with just the right amount of acidity for a long, smooth, satisfying finish.

Tartan Red
A masterful blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot each displaying their unique characteristics.
Blackberry, marionberry, and butterscotch of the Cab Franc nose came to the front of this rich, velvety wine. Aged 18 months in oak, it is consistent with our approachable style, but could benefit from cellaring.
