Twelve Wine

We're self-funded, family-owned, and have built the vineyard and wine business from the ground up. We also have learned everything as we've gone along. Which probably explains why we're in year seven of our three-year plan. We do want to thank all of our friends and family for the constant encouragement along the way.
We are committed to making the highest quality wine possible. By owning the vineyard, we have complete control over the fruit, which is critical in making great wine. We also know what we don't know, so we do have consultants who help us make both vineyard and winemaking decisions.
OK, we know you want to know about the name and the labels. We had settled on photography for the labels very early in the process, because we wanted the bottles to stand out if they were ever on a shelf. Finding a name, however, was to put it mildly, a painful experience. After almost nine months of searching, we came upon the concept of a number. Numbers met the criteria we had set - short, easy to pronounce, and flexible enough to permit label changes in the future. It came down to eleven and twelve. One reason we picked twelve came from the movie Spinal Tap. Since, Nigel's favorite amplifier went up in volume to eleven instead of ten, we figured that our wine should go up to twelve instead of eleven. And when we spelled out t-w-e-l-v-e in Scrabble tiles and realized that the word score was twelve points, we knew we had made the right decision. Didn't even dawn on us that there were twelve bottles of wine in a case until well after the fact.

Twelve Pinot Blanc
Creamy texture combined with wild tropical fruit flavors.
A welcome change from ABC (another boring Chardonnay).

Tons of fruit coupled with nice acidity and smooth tannins. This is a great food wine.

Twelve Pinot Noir
Big, rich Pinot Noir that's enjoyable now, but will only improve with age. Loads of dark fruit flavors plus ripe tannins.
