Teira Wines was founded by Dan Donahoe and Alexis Woods in 2002. Their roots in the wine business go deep. Dan started out as a cellar worker for Cakebread Cellars during the crush of 1992 and went on to a career as a retail wine merchant specializing in discovering limited production, high quality wines from around the world for his clients. Alexis Woods' family has been growing grapes in the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys of Sonoma County since 1974, when her father Frank Woods founded Clos du Bois Winery.
As an insider on the production and retail sides of the wine business, Dan discovers individual lots of high quality wine while still in barrel. He works directly with each winemaker to finalize and bottle the finished wine under the Teira Wines label.
With his years of experience as a wine retailer, Dan knows what "a great wine for the price" really means to the consumer - novice and expert alike. His passion for finding wines of distinction showcasing their unique varietal character is partnered with an equal pleasure of placing those wines in the hands of wine lovers around the world.

Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc
Aromas of bright citrus, grapefruit, melon and lemongrass on the nose. On the palate, equally bright flavors of lemon-lime and citrus fruits combine with a hint of minerality. A crisp natural acidity adds backbone to this lively wine and leads into a very clean finish.

Teira Sonoma County Zinfandel
Ripe black cherry, blueberry and black currant with hints of vanilla and black pepper on the nose. On the palate, elegant flavors of ripe black cherry, currant and creamy spice are complimented with hints of dark chocolate. These flavors are well integrated without being overpowered by the alcohol - balance and finesse are the key descriptors for this wine.
